Free Mahjong is based on the rules of the original mahjong computer game. The objective of the game is to match free mahjong tiles to clear the board before time runs out. Free tiles are those which right or left side is unobstructed and which do not have any tile on top. By matching identical free tiles you clear the board and win the game.

If you are stuck the game allows you to use hints. When you use a hint the game shows you free tiles that you can match. You can use unlimited hints but that wouldn't be as fun, now would it?
